  • Why and how was the Nip Fit Tool developed?
While working as an IBCLC in a birth hospital, Amy was cutting out paper rulers from a pump website to size parents for their pumps and needed a durable, cleanable, and easy to carry ruler for this purpose. Luckily a nurse Amy works with knew that her husband could help manufacture a tool to meet these needs. After a few prototypes the Nip Fit Tool was perfected.
  • How do you clean the Nip Fit Tool?
The Nip Fit Tool can be cleansed with soap and water, any hospital/clinic approved sanitizing wipe, or 70% alcohol solution or wipe.
  • Where is the Nip Fit Tool manufactured?
    Canton, Georgia, USA.
  • Why do you recommend adding 1-3 mm?
The tool was tested by multiple IBCLCs in a Childrens hospital with a large population of lactating parents over many months. Only a handful of parents needed a slightly larger flange, typically 4 mm, and these parents tended to have previous breast surgery or very flat or inverted nipples. The vast majority of the parents found comfortable and effective milk removal with a flange that was 1-3 mm larger than their measured size. We were able to follow the parents with NICU babies and resize them as they progressed in their breastfeeding journey as needed and track their progress with milk removal using the better fitting pump flanges.
